Week 1 Blog Post

 This week I learned about the next generation science standards and how they encourage students to learn about science in a positive way that will help the information to stick long term.

My remaining question would be how these new standards would be practical in younger elementary age students.

I can apply what I have learned this week by encouraging my students for asking and answering questions instead of telling them they are wrong and discouraging them.

week 13

 This week we worked on the m&ms melting in water again and used sugar to see whether they melted quicker or slower. I love this idea for children relating a common candy they are all interested in with an experiment, This is a lesson that is relatable to most of their lives. I think the way we went back to a previous activity like this one that we have done before is always a good idea because it builds prior knowledge from the first lesson and creates a more in depth understanding of a topic when we are just focused on one.
