week 5 blog

 One thing I learned this week was about how dophlins catch fish. They kick up dirt using their tails creating a circle around fish tricking them to think they are trapped. When the fish try to jump out of this fake net they jump right into the mouths of the dolphins that are waiting there for them.  Another thing a learned this week is how to create a lesson plan using the NGSS core ideas. I really like that the website gives you ideas for activities that directly align with the lesson your teaching. One question I have is that if every section of the lesson plan would be necessary and applicable to every science lesson you as a teacher teach?

week 4 blog post

 This week I learned how to take a larger scientific idea like how weather can affect land and cause erosions into a digestible lesson for children. I really like use of sand in this lesson and I think it makes its really engaging for young children to model a scientific idea in a fun way. I can definitely see myself getting inspiration from this lesson for my future classroom and incopperating sand into a lesson for modeling. 

week three blog post

 This week I learned about the life cycle of a raspberry through using our play dough models and found out that before they bloom they look like white flowers. I didn't understand all the cycles of the fish life cycle but since two groups doing that for their models I now have a better understanding of it. I love this idea for my future students to collaborate and gain a better understanding of the life cycle.

Week 2 Blog Post

 This week I learned how to incorporate science into interactive lessons for young children. I can apply what Ive learned into my future classroom by having students do an interactive real life show of science like what we are doing with the seeds right know. What I am still wondering is what the rest of the rest of the semester will teach me about teaching young students science.
